Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro Android Pie update reportedly rolling out now

Samsung is reportedly pushing out the Android Pie update for the Galaxy J7 Pro in Russia. The Galaxy J7 Pro was launched back in 2017, making it the first budget Samsung phone from that year to receive the Android Pie update. The Galaxy J7 Pro was launched running on Android 7.0 Nougat and the device received the Oreo update last year.

The Galaxy J7 Pro has now received two major Android updates since its launch and it is definitely nice to see Samsung continue to support older models. The Android Pie update with version J730FMXXU5CSEE also brings the May, 2019 Android security patch. While the report by SamMobile does not include a changelog, it should be assumed that the Pie update brings One UI to the Galaxy J7 Pro.

One UI brings features like system-wide Dark Mode and a redesigned UI layout along with performance improvements, all of which should come to the Galaxy J7 Pro. The Android Pie update is reported to be rolling out in Russia, but Samsung should be rolling it out in more markets around the world. You can manually check for the Pie update on the Galaxy J7 Pro by heading to the Software update option under Settings.

The Android Pie update for the Galaxy J7 Pro suggests Samsung could roll out the OTA update for the Galaxy J7 (2017) soon as well. The Galaxy J7 and J7 Pro are identical with the only difference being the inclusion of Samsung Pay support for the Pro model.

Samsung has been updating a bunch of older Samsung phones to Android Pie such as the Galaxy On7 Prime, Galaxy J4+, Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8. The company also served the Pie update to newer phones like the Galaxy M10, Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30.
