Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy M40 in India tomorrow i.e Tuesday, June 11. The company will launch the smartphone at 6pm, which is when we will know its official price in India along with the specs. Ahead of the Galaxy M40 launch, a lot is known about the device already. Samsung has revealed key design details and has also hinted at the processor powering the device.
The Galaxy M40 is the fourth smartphone in the popular Galaxy M-series. It will slot above the Galaxy M30 as far as hierarchy goes. The company recently said that it plans to launch the Galaxy M40 with a price tag around Rs 20,000, although the exact pricing will only be revealed tomorrow.
Galaxy M40 will be sold online
The Galaxy M lineup is an online-only series with Samsung typing up with Amazon to sell these phones on the e-commerce platform. The Galaxy M40 will also be sold on Amazon India and will also be available on Samsung’s online store. Samsung will announce the sale date of the Galaxy M40 at 6pm on Tuesday, June 11.
First phone in its segment with a punch-hole display
It is no secret that the Galaxy M40 will come with an Infinity-O display, which is probably going to be the biggest highlight about the device. We have seen this kind of display on flagship phones like the Galaxy S10, but the Galaxy M40 will now be the most affordable phone with a punch-hole display in India.
From what past rumours have told us so far, the Galaxy M40 will offer s 6.3-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and the punch-hole cutout will be on the top left corner.
Galaxy M40 gets a Snapdragon processor
The Galaxy M40 will also be the first in the Galaxy M-series to get a Qualcomm chipset. The company has confirmed that the Galaxy M40 will be powered by a Snapdragon 600-series processor, but the exact chipset will only be revealed today. Past reports suggest that this will be a Snapdragon 675 chipset. This is a 2GHz octa-core processor based on a 11nm process and is paired with a Adreno 612 GPU.
Galaxy M40 with 32MP triple camera setup
Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy M40 will come with a 32MP triple camera system. The primary camera will use a 32-megapixel sensor for sharp and detailed photography, while the second and third cameras are said to offer an ultra wide-angle lens and depth sensing, respectively. Up front, the Galaxy M40 will sport a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
Everything else expected to come to Galaxy M40
The Galaxy M40 should launch running Android Pie with One UI on top considering it is launching halfway through 2019. Based on past reports, the Galaxy M40 will launch with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Galaxy M40 is also said to house a 3,500mAh battery and should support fast charging like the Galaxy M30.
